Pho Sho

Every so often, when the weather is perfectly chilly in the apartment, Melo gets a little sick. And every time that happens, the only cure and comfort is pho.

Pho is a Vietnamese noodle soup made with broth, rice noodles, herbs, and some kind of meat. It is served with basil or cilantro (or a combination of both), sprouts, lime, and sliced jalapeno. I usually get chicken; Melo usually gets tendon or beef.

Last week was one of these times and so we got Pho. Simply Pho You in Koreatown is where we go since it’s not too far from our apartment. It’s not the best pho we’ve had. The best is Pho So 1 in Gardena, but we weren’t about to make that trek while Melo was sick. This pho hit the spot last week, though, and before long Melo was back to her happy self.
