I work in the Glendale/Pasadena area weekday afternoons, so a few weeks ago Melo and I decided to stay in the area for our date night.

Melo LOVES Thai food, so I surprised her by taking her to Daisy Mint, a Thai spot right off of Colorado Blvd near Cal Tech and not too far from Old Pasadena. This place is so adorable! The cozy interior actually reminded me a lot of my favorite brunch spot in Atlanta (you can read about it here). It’s very charming and quaint; perfect for a date!
We started out with some flowering green tea and the fresh duck rolls. The tea was superb, and although I thought the rolls were just okay, Melo loved them. They are served with a peanut sauce that is pretty yummy, though.
Next, Melo ordered the duck soup and I ordered the pad thai. My pad that was on the sweeter side; I typically prefer it to be on the spicier side so I was a little put off by the flavor. It was good, just not what I was expecting. Melo’s soup was excellent, however. The broth was very flavorful without being to heavy or greasy and the duck was cooked perfectly.
Overall, we really enjoyed our experience at Daisy Mint and will definitely be back sometime for another date! If you’re ever in that part of LA, you really should check them out!
